Storage: No refrigeration required. As you work through the jar, top up with cooking oil — sesame oil works best. Keep the bean curd fully submerged to maintain freshness and prevent discolouration.

Product Note

As a living fermented product, the following are all completely normal and do not affect quality or safety:

Oil on the label — Fermentation produces gas which may push sesame oil out of the jar, causing oiliness on the label.

White spots — White dots may occasionally appear on the surface. These are naturally occurring compounds formed during the fermentation process and are completely harmless.

Surface discolouration — The top layer may darken slightly when exposed to air, similar to how a cut apple browns. Simply remove with chopsticks if preferred, and keep the bean curd submerged in oil to prevent this.
