Silky smooth and richly flavoured, this classic fermented bean curd melts on the palate with a deeply satisfying finish. Enjoy it with rice, noodles, pasta, stir-fries, or straight from the jar.

Storage: No refrigeration required. As you work through the jar, the oil level will drop — simply top it up with cooking oil or raw oil as needed, with sesame oil being the best choice. Keep the bean curd fully submerged in oil to maintain freshness and prevent discolouration. The more you top it up, the better it tastes over time.

Best consumed within 12 months if refrigerated.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, seal tightly and consume as soon as possible. Please refer to the product packaging for the specific best before date.

Product Note

As a living fermented product, the following are all completely normal and do not affect quality or safety:

Oil on the label — Fermentation produces gas which may push sesame oil out of the jar, causing oiliness on the label.

White spots — White dots may occasionally appear on the surface. These are naturally occurring compounds formed during the fermentation process and are completely harmless.

Surface discolouration — The top layer may darken slightly when exposed to air, similar to how a cut apple browns. Simply remove with chopsticks if preferred, and keep the bean curd submerged in oil to prevent this.
